WordPress installation on a Virtual Private Server
WordPress is a very useful CMS for websites, enabling you to create stunning, feature rich sites quickly with themes, plugins and automation
without knowledge on coding. More information can be found at https://wordpress.org
Many use cases of a WordPress site is for personal blogs, news outlet and E-Commerce store such as WooCommerce.
While WordPress can be quickly installed via a shared hosting platform, choosing a VPS for use cases such as an online store will provide more flexibility, control and overall lower pricing.
There are 2 main ways of installing and managing wordpress. We recommend install an opensource webcontrol panel: HestiaCP
After testing, HestiaCP works flawlessly while being completely free.
We will still show you how to install WordPress with and without a webcontrol panel.
Installing via HestiaCP
First you must install HestiaCP itself from here: https://hestiacp.com/install.html
Next we setup DNS records, this can be done quickly by setting a glue record and assigning the nameserver for the domain to the vps.
In this case, you can create 2 glue records: ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com
HestiaCP (when creating a site), will create DNS records automatically.
