Virtio drivers are a type of paravirtualized device driver specifically designed for KVM virtual machines. These drivers significantly enhance machine performance by reducing I/O latency and boosting throughput to levels comparable to bare-metal machines. This leads to faster, more efficient virtual machine operations, bringing you closer to native performance.
Enabling VirtIO on the VPS
- Click the Settings Tab
- Select VPS Configuration
- Toggle Enable Virtio
- Click Submit at the bottom of the page to save the changes
- To enable this you will need to restart the server (Stop > Power Off > Stop)
It is important to Power Off the VPS so that the changes are correctly written to the VPS
